Horacio Cruz
Extensive experience in the financial markets, including Fund Management, Investment Management, Retail and Investment Banking Mr. Cruz served as CEO of the US subsidiary of a European bank until 2017. He subsequently founded Weston Capital Group, a financial and branded real estate investment firm in 2017. Before founding BlackStar Capital in 2021, Mr. Cruz served as the CFO of Benessere Investment Group, a SPAC Management entity, and contributed to the development of the firm’s corporate strategy, the organizational growth strategy, as well as the financial strategy of the Company and its multiple U.S. based SPACs. Mr. Cruz also has partnerships on a crypto exchange and wallet platform (BRExchange) as well as real estate investments in Portugal, Spain, Brazil and USA.
Alex Cano
Before Joining Blackstar Capital, Mr. Cano served as COO for Benessere Investment Group, a U.S. based SPAC management entity, where he was responsible for the daily operations and contributed to the development of the firm’s corporate strategy. At Blackstar, he is responsible for the designing and implementation of the operational structure for the firm which includes the system infrastructure, compliance processes, the organizational growth strategy, as well as owning the SPAC lifecycle execution in coordination with third party vendors. Previously, Mr. Cano was the General Manager for Bankrate’s Home Equity division. Prior to Bankrate, he spent two years as a negotiation consultant for multiple Fortune 500 companies and ran operations for DIRECTV Latin America as well as holding executive roles with HBO and Sony Pictures Television International.
